Where can i find diagrams for a buick century 1998?

I've been looking online but can't seem to find diagrams for the different parts on a buick century 1998 so i can repair it.|||check your local library. we have Chilton's manuals that go back pretty far.|||You won`t find much on line that is free. Your best option is to get a Chilton's repair manual for $20-30. It covers almost every part of your car and usually has diagrams and actual pictures of the parts as well as the repair procedures

Is Buick still considered the car for old people?

I loved Buick Enclave but everyone I talk to about the Enclave they say "my grandma used to drive it". Doesn't Tiger Woods make this brand image better? Why not? Why do people still think it is for oldies?

I was sooo close to purchasing it but didn't solely based on the brand image. I still have not purchased any vehicle. Awaiting to see your honest response to this to make my decision.|||I live in an area with lots of retired people, and I still see a lot of Buicks.|||I think things could change u can lead the pact. I wouldn't because a lot of old ppl where i live still drive them. and Tiger Woods get's paid a but load of money and gets them for free to advertise them, but then he just ends up giving them to his mother.

To be fair the new Buick's are suppose to be better. just not for me.|||I think so. Look at them! http://www.carbaseautomall.com/search.as鈥?/a>|||Since Buick changed their cars drastically i dont believe they are an old person car. the lucerne looks pretty pimp and the enclave is a beast. but id say anything older than a 2000 would be an old person car

Does anyone know how much warranty a genuine transmission for a buick Lesabre 2000 limited has from a dealer?

I just got a new transmission for my car (Buick LesaBre 2000 Limited) and I wanted to know the warranty how many years or miles it is.|||If you purchased a GM remanufactuered transmission (what is known as a SRTA, for Service Replacement Transmission Assembly) it is covered for three years or 100,000 miles, parts and labor included. The warranty is honored at any GM dealer if you have all of your paperwork.

If you're not sure what you bought, though, you should check with the dealer who installed it, as already mentioned.|||You probably will have to contact them. Probably 3 years i would guess. I bought a new engine for a car once-it came with a 3 year warranty.

But just contact the people you purchased it at and ask them. Thats your best bet.

How do i program remote keys for a 2000 Buick le sabre?

I just bought a Buick lesabre custom from a auction and went to the junkyard a nd I. Found some remote keys in a 99 Buick wondering if there's anyway I can reprogram them to mine|||try to check it out first on auto repair shop..

How would you go about fixing a key receptical on a buick?

hi i have a 95 buick lesabre and when ever i try and open the locked door on the drivers side ,you can push the key 1 way and the other but it will not unlock.|||you have to take off the door panel.....there is a small plastic clip that holds the lock rod in place buy two they are cheap.|||Sounds like it may need a dose of lubrication like WD40. Squirt inside the lock mechanism with the little red tube. Also put some on your key and try to work the lubricant into the lock. Have you tried your spare key as your regular key may be overly worn.

Good luck.|||The connecting rod for the key cylinder is off. This is easy to remedy with access through the door panel.

"BRILLIANT"!!!!

Could I ask a dealer to replace a part on a buick lesabre prior to buying it?

I'm thinking of buying a 1996 Buick LeSabre with a 3800 engine. I saw and drove at a dealer, who is also a new car dealer. However, I read the engine has a problem with the intake manifold because it's made partly of plastic and tends to burn out and if it does, it will ruin the engine. This car has less than 46,000 miles on it, and the engine is fine at this point. I ran a carfax report on it, and it came up completely clean. However, I don't want something happening soon after I buy it. Otherwise the car is just what I'm looking for. I have a report on on this defective part even though there never was a recall on it. Should I ask the dealer to install an updated part (that is all metal)? Would a dealer tend to go for that? Would it help to show him the report? Since I was going to try to get him to bring down the price anyway, how about if I say I'll buy it at the asking price if they change the part?|||Everything is negotiable, ask them to change it, or find out how much the better part is and how much to install, then start dealing. If dealer says, ok, I knock off that much, you get it done, deal.

You get the car, your mechanic does the cautionary repair, and all are happy.|||Everything is a negotition until you sign the paper work. I would certainly have them do it. If they want the sale they will fix it.|||Sure, make it a deal breaker if he does'nt.|||It's pretty unlikely that he will change a parts that isn't currently a problem. Good luck though....|||just ask them to change it and if they wont you dont want it. either you get your way or you dont lol|||it depends, did you buy it as is.if so,then he can do whatever he wants to.|||definitely

How to recharge 1997 Buick Skylark Air Conditioner?

I have the recharge kit.

There are two possible places to connect the hose to a 1997 Buick Skylark. I know I cannot connect the can to the high side. There is a Red cap connected to a larger pipe that looks like the high side and a smaller green cap connected to a wimpy looking connection with a tag about being an evaporator test connector for 1 PSI. Is this the low side?

Any suggestions would be appreciated as the Haynes manual is horrible and does not have the details. Thanks.|||yes it is the green cap the quick disconnect should only fit on one side anyways|||I also have 1997 Buick Skylark. When I open the hood, I see Red cap and Green Evap Cap near the condenser.

How do I turn the heater off in a 1968 Buick Riviera?

I recently bought a 1968 Buick Rivera and can't seem to figure out how to turn the heater off. The heater continues to blow out of the defrost vents. I tried switching the controls off, but nothing happens when I try to turn it off. I can get temperature change when I switch from cold to hot but nothing else. Somebody at Auto zone said that the car was climate controlled but I can't get it to turn off. Any help would be appreciated Thanks|||Some rivieras had a thing called full flow ventilation system,it was in operation at all times when the engine is operating, even when the car is standing still , this works by the blower motor runs constantly at low speeds, there was no off position on the blower switch,,But i thought this was not used until the boatail 1971--73,but it may have started on from 67 68 the first of the 430 ci engine,.anyway buick did have alot of complates about this at the time.I would consider mounting a under dash on off switch, after finding the correct wire to eliminate it when required.

Ontologically speaking, is a Buick, chocolate, and sex the answer to the mystery of life?

If I have sex in the back of my Buick with my girlfriend, with a little chocolate syrup to make it interesting, can we find the one true sweet mystery of life? Will it be impossible, or just absurd? |||Let's see.

Buick + chocolate + sex = 42?

No. It doesn't work, see? |||But it won't last long. Life can't be all syrupy sex.|||No, the answer is 42.

Sex in a Buick with the aid of chocolate syrup is just a good idea.|||No. anime is.|||ontology (noun): (1) the branch of metaphysics that studies the nature of existence or being as such; (2) loosely: metaphysics

According to the Mind, Matter, and Quantum Mechanics theory, chocolate doesn't exist unless you are there to observe it. A Buick is like an electron - you either know where it is or how fast it is traveling, but not both. As for sex, are we speaking before or after the chocolate and in the front or back seat of the Buick?|||Lol- but why can't life be all chocolaty, syrupy sex? What damage is done if timing chain fails on 1997 Buick Park Avenue?

I really want to know if the valves or pistons will be damaged if the timing chain fails or slips on a 1997 Buick Park Avenue. On some engines the valves will never hit the pistons, and the engine will not be damaged. On other engines, the valves will strike the pistons, and very expensive damage will occur. What will happen in the engine in the 1997 Park Avenue?|||timing chains do break. I have had one break on my car. It was a 89 Buick with the 3800 engine it ruined the whole engine. I cant say for sure for the 97 but I am sure it has the 3800 in it and they haven't really changed those engines too much so I would have to say that yes it would be catastrophic.|||If the time Chain slips or fails it should not damaged the engine. in lest you are going 60 or more mph. then it will damaged the engine.|||Most modern, and yes, 97 is a modern engines have a "zero" valve clearance. This means that when any valve is in the open position, it protrudes into the combustion chamber and into the path of the piston. The result is that without the timing chain or belt turning the camshaft (which in turn closes the valve as the piston reaches dead top center) the piston will strike the valve causing damage to both components. Never neglect your timing compents they will kill your vehicle in a heart beat.|||Timing chains don't break. Only in high horsepower cars.

How do I fix an EGR valve on a 1988 Buick?

I have a 1988 Buick Lesabre that has a couple engine codes. The first one is for a failure of the EGR valve. The second is for the oxygen sensor. I have mechanic skills just not the book and info.|||Try removing the EGR valve and cleaning it with carb and choke cleaner and q-tips just be very careful not to leave any loose cotton fibers in there. This has gone on since I bought the car brand new, and my 3 year warrantee is running out in Februray; what can I do? I should not have to wait 10 years, should I, or should I have bought a Toyota in the first place?|||Even after the 36-month time period is expired, this item is still covered under warranty from the factory. If the dealership cannot repair the problem, you could be covered under your State's "Lemon Law." Do some research and see what your options are...|||Toyota has a recall on their intermediate steering shafts too. GM will take care of the intermediate shaft for you after basic warranty, as it is not really a recall on the GM shafts. It is a service bulletin on some models and extended warranty to 7/70 on others. Toyota wouldn't have told you about their recall in the first place... you would have to be informed before going in to a Toyota dealer.. if you don't mention the recall to them, they don't mention it to you.

I am sure you can get a better deal.

They are average in reliability.|||The best thing i can say about the Rendezvous is that it isn't quite as aesthetically challenged as its corporate cousin, the Pontiac Aztek.

There's nothing really wrong with the vehicle, but nothing really right, either. If you don't really need a crossover in this size class, you can easily find something that is more fuel efficient.

And the fact that the price is about $1,000 UNDER Kelley Blue Book retail leads me to suspect that there's some problem which isn't immediately apparent.

Can I take the transmission pan from another car to put on my '98 Buick LeSabre?

My '98 Buick LeSabre has a busted transmission pan, but I can't find a new one. Are there any cars that have the same transmission, so I can just use the transmission pan from one of those?|||If you contact most junk yards and auto dealers parts departments they may be able to cross-link the specific transmission you have with other models.|||I work for PML and we make a sand cast aluminum aftermarket pan for the 4T65E transmission (which is what Buick used as the automatic transmission). You can look at our website, www.yourcovers.com, and see a picture of the pan and check if that matches what you have. This is a pretty common transmission. FWD is not the best to peel out in, first of all, but it is easily done...

DO NOT do nuetral bombs (Put car in nuetral stomp and gas and throw into drive) you can break you transmission / drivshaft....

The best way to do it is to put you car either into drive or 1st gear, and stomp it...a 3.8 L v6 should be able to do all right. If it doesn't have enough power try doing it while wet outside or use water and liquid soap to cover your tires....

have fun :)|||good engine but you don,t want to do that on front wheel drive unless your prepared to keep putting cv joints in it.|||You need to buy a rear wheel drive car with a V8 to do a real burnout.

Is it any purpose of the Buick Brand to be on General Motors if Cadillac is the Luxury brand?

To start trouble shooting, plug a known good sender unit into the wiring at the tank. If the gauge becomes steady then the problem is the sender. If the gauge is still flaky then it's the ground (like previous answer), wire, connector, or computer.

It's also remotely possible that your new instrument panel is also bad - I've had this happen to me - my junk yard part had the same failure!|||gm is good for their floating guages, my olds does the same. the only time i can actually tell how much gas i have, is when iam on a level surface.|||most likely its the sending unit, it also could be an intermittent ground problem

Anyone have any person experience with a Buick Rendezvous?

We're thinking of buying one. We looked at the Chevy Trailblazer and the Ford Explorer, but both of those seem to have transmission trouble. Have you ever had any problems with your Buick?|||Buick makes the most reliable vehicles in the US as stated by JD Powers and associates.

You should not have problems with this vehicle.

The cons are that you can only get a 4-speed transmission where others have 5-speed. If you really want something reliable why not give a look at a toyota highlander.

The look is a bit ordinary but a great vehicle. Good look in your car shopping.

good luck,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,|||Most of the auto parts stores, autozone, schucks, (depends on where you live) will loan you their code reader from the front of the store, if you give them your drivers license to hold while you take the code reader out to your car in the parking lot.

You plug it in, (get low under your drivers dash and you will see the funky plug) and turn your car on and press the button on the code reader and a minute or so later, a little code will show up - to tell you what the check engine light is for. Write this down word for word, and then give the code reader back and get your license back.

Then google the code, or post it on here and people with a book of codes can tell you what the light is for.

Also on the code reader handheld device, usually there's a button for "clear the check engine light" which will turn the light off on your dash, until the car recognizes the problem is happening again. So if you buy a $8 new gas cap and put it on, and that solves it... then once you clear the message, it wont come up again. Unless that wasnt the problem.

What is causing my 96' buick regal from starting?

There is a little issue with my 96' Buick Regal. It starts when it wants. Sometimes, I have to give the key a few turns before it decides to start. Other times it won't start unless I give it a jump start. Battery is good, so it's not that. What else can cause these starting problems? I hope someone can help me with this. Your help would be greatly appreciated.|||How do you know the battery is good? Most people mistakenly believe a battery has a good charge if it lights the headlights and other lights and accessories. The headlights only draw about 6 to 8 amps and the other lights only draw about 1 amp each. But the starter draws about 250 amps, and more on some vehicles. So a half-charged battery can easily power the headlights and accessories but not have the power needed to deliver the amp load the starter draws. If it takes a jump to get it started then I suggest you do a proper battery and charging system test. You also said that sometimes it takes a few key turns before it decides to start. That can indicate a loose or corroded connection someplace or a faulty ignition switch.|||When you turn the Key does the starter Spin? If so then it sounds like your Bendix in your starter is out. If you know what your doing you can get the Bendix and replace it yourself or take it to a starter shop.

Easiest thing to do is to just get another starter.

If you just hear clicking sounds then that is either your solenoid or a battery cable loose.

Why does my Buick Park Avenue keep stalling randomly while I drive?

My 1994 Buick Park Avenue stalls randomly while I am driving it. Some have told me that it is the "sensor." It also goes at 2000 rpms while idling. Does anyone with Buick experience know why? Thanks.|||may be the torque converter had that problem with my sunfire yrs ago..|||Well two reasons for stalling in all cars. Faulty ignition system, or fuel starvation. I'd check the basics: spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel line, fuel filter, ignition coils, ignition wires, fuel injectors (or just get some injector cleaner). If that's not the case then it may have something to do with the ecu, I'd suggest going to a mechanic for that auto computers are quite complex.|||"the"sensor,,,you car has 10 sensors,,, is ck engine lite on? scan it to see whats up...when last tune up...

It looks like he put A lot of time into this car with modifications to the body and interior of the car, still has the original motor and transmission, and is currently primed for paint.|||Check the Hemmings Motor catalog or Hemmings.com to get an idea on the price. Keep in mind that modification to the body and interior lower the value of the car. There is an exception to the "keep it original" rule and that is in muscle cars. I have a 95 buick that has slow acceerleration when you press the gas. In addition the harder you press the gas the engine stutters. The check engine light comes on and off. I was thinking (or hoping) this was a wire or filter issue. Any ideas?|||Start with checking the air filter.

What is the average lifespan of a '96 Buick Regal?

I know that the life of a car depends on how well it is kept and maintained, but how long do '96 Buick Regals last on average, with regular oil changes and fluid checks?|||The Regal is one of the few GM vehicles of the 90s with a good reputation for reliability.

The average car lasts 12 years. I'd expect the typical Regal to do slightly better than that.

Also, don't worry TOO much about it. Any car that's lasted 11 years, even if it's a model with a bad reputation, cannot be one of the worst examples of that model. It survived any temptation to junk it, and any problems it DID have have probably been fixed. So long as it isn't known for recurring issues, it'll be fine.

Which are the best shocks for a full size Buick?

Hello, I have a 1971 Buick Riviera GS. The shocks are in need of replacement. It's a 4,500 lb, 122" wheelbase, full size car and I don't expect it to handle like a Mini Cooper. I'd like decreased body roll without tremendous sacrifice in ride smoothness.

Your suggestions willl be appreciated.|||I've found Monroe's to be one of the best at descent price and lifetime warranty. If you have auto leveling rears they make those too. They don't have anything to do with body roll for that you'd need HD front and rear stabilizer bars. If none on rear they sell a kit.

Where does the transmission fluid go on a 1994 buick?

My 1994 Buick LeSabre will not move when I put on the gas. The engine seems to be fine. It turns on and off easily. I finally got it to move in first gear. My car is an automatic. I think I need to check the transmission fluid but I don't have a clue how to do that. Can anyone help please?|||You have to locate the TRANSMISSION dip stick. Do not confuse it with the engine oil dipstick! Have a friend who is knowledgeable show you.

The engine must be running (in Park) on level ground. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it off. Re-insert the dipstick and pull it out again. Look at the end of the dipstick to see the fluid level. It should be between the two marks (small holes on the dipstick or hash marks). Add 1 pint of fluid at a time until the level is between the two marks. MAKE SURE YOU USE THE CORRECT FLUID TYPE. If not, you'll ruin the transmission, guaranteed.

Transmission fluid is added through the same tube that the dipstick uses. You'll certainly need a funnel.|||your not suppose to think it needs fluid, you have to check it to be sure. it might be low or it could be the transmission filter clogged too. you pull the dip stick out, use a funnel and fill it there but don,t overfill it or you could blow seals.|||There is a dipstick for the transmission. Remove it, and use a funnel to add fluid.

How to bypass security switch in key on Buick Riviera?

Does anyone know how to bypass the security chip on a 96 Buick Riviera? My moms car will not start...the security light is flashing for some reason and the key won't start the car. Someone said that the security system is preventing the key from starting the car and we will have to bypass the pass-key by clipping some wires and attaching them somewhere else. Any ideas?|||Probably a broken wire to the VATS key switch, a common problem as they age due to extremely thin wires. A new key won't help, as it will have the SAME value as the one you have now. The 10 minute relearn does not apply here, VATS and PassLock are two different critters. Cutting or splicing anything is not a DIY solution for someone not familiar with the system. Have a locksmith take a look at it and discuss your options with you.|||i would try to lock and unlock the cars driver door with the key . then i would try to start the car the reset button is in the door the the system.i would not cut any thing at all .maybe buy a new key not from the dealer go to a lock smith will save you a lot of money and. yes lock smiths can program keys and they are a lot cheaper good luck.|||First, don't cut any wires. The car will probably never start again.

You need to have a dealer make you a new key. They only cost about $10. The new key will have a different resistor code. You will have to go through the "GM ten minute relearn" to make it work.

My 1997 Buick Century Needs a new head gasket? How much can I expect to pay?

This is been a terrible last few months. Both used vehicles are racking up the miles and they're starting to get worn out. My Buick got a bit overheated. The temp gauge red lined, and I immediatley pulled it over. I waited about 20 minutes and nursed it to my local garage. My mechanic has told me she was way low on coolant and he found no leaks from any location. Seems some antifreeze is possibly blowing out the tailpipe. So big money or what?|||Hard to say the heads should be removed perhaps they will have to be skimmed.

As the engine overheated liners could be damaged.

I just purchased a 2004 buick, they said the tranny was rebuilt. Now 2 weeks later they are telling me the AWD is shot. Are they all in one or can one be rebuilt without the other?|||If what your talking about is basically the transfer case, the unit will unbolt from the transmission to be replaced or rebuilt separately. The rear differential is another unit that may be causing trouble but it can only be replaced,it is not rebuildable. Hopefully you got some kind of warranty, say 3 months/3000 miles.|||nope as part kind of if transmission is shot its shot transmision is what makes it move all wheel drive means all wheel pull at same time no transmission no pulling there is other parts beside transmission that might be bad but cant say its all wheel drive that is a type of car like four wheel drive or a jeep = all wheel drive

But I started spotting on july 22nd ( light red %26amp; pinkish liquid when i wiped) and took a test on the 24th. then later that day i had cramps not HORRIBLE but not light either and I had felt blood and wiped and there was maybe 2 or 3 clumps the size of a dime or smaller. and then a little less the next morning. I still have symptoms and now my boobs are starting to hurt (when they didn't before) i've peed like 4 or 5 times in 3 hours. I feel SO sick to my stomach everything stinks, im always tired and emotional, i have no appetite except for sweets, cupcakes, soft cookies, cake with buttercream frosting, etc. and cold fruit, strawberries, melon, etc. Should I take another test or were the little clots a dead give away that im not? IM SO CONFUSED ! I'm about 18, i know its bad but in a way im hoping that i am, i miscarried once before and i was just in the worst depression of my lifeee. me and my boyfriend have the best relationship and i know we'd both love it with all we have. he doesn't wanna put it up or abort it (thank god) but someone please help or explain !|||I have found some good tips in following link, It may be good for you too

http://www.besttipszone.com|||You might be pregnant, you might not be. You need to take a test. My friend fell pregnant at 16 when she didn't take her birth control properly - in the same way you are not taking yours properly.

If you aren't pregnant then you need to either start taking your pills properly, i.e. on time every day, or switch to injections or an implant. If you miss a pill or take one more than 12 hours late you need to use condoms for the next 7 days. If you are taking antibiotics you need to use condoms all the time you are taking them and for 7 days afterwards.

Where can i find a new crome front triple tree with a 5-8 deg rake for my 73 honda cl350?

i want to turn my bike into a rigid frame chopper so i am looking for info to do this on the cl350. I already cut the frame and have it stripped down to the motor only. I found weld yourself rigid kit on ebay (i will have a local welding shop do the work) but need more finishing info on it. I want to run a fat rear tire and switch front and rear out for disk brakes too. the goal is to keep it low to the ground. I got it with 4.25/85-18 rear and 3.25/19 fronts on it. I would like to go down in height both front and rear. For the rear i want something very fat . Something that would fill a nice size fender. I am betting if i go down in height the chain sproket on the rear wheel needs to be larger(any calculators for this?). I cannot find any manufacutes that make a all crome bolt on raked tripple tree for it 5-8 deg.

I have seen these peoples kits

http://www.chopper-kit.co.uk/ame-chopper-kit-installation.htm

but they have none for cl350's|||You will have to have the triple clamp made because no one sells custom parts for that bike. If you want a smaller diameter rear wheel, you can buy 16" rim and spoke sets from Buchanan. http://www.buchananspokes.com/Excel_chrm鈥?/a>

By the way, if your new rear tire has a smaller diameter than the stock wheel and tire you will have a lower final drive ratio. This means better acceleration but lower top speed. To compensate, the rear sprocket would need to be smaller. Best bet would be to get a larger counter shaft sprocket if you can, but no more than 1 or 2 teeth larger than stock.

The only thing limiting the width of the rear tire is how wide your frame is. But keep in mind that if the tire is a lot wider than stock you will have interference with chain. This can be remedied, but it is very complex, not to mention expensive too.

We are happy in our marriage and think its time for a baby. Could i possibly be pregnant?

My last period was March 5, 2009. I came off the orthotricyclen birth control pills Feb. 20, 2009. I have always had regular periods... Me and my husband have been trying since March. (and the end of Feb), and we even done the ovulation calculator. Like i said my last period was March 5, and today is April 13, 2009. I have had little breast tenderness, frequently peeing, a little eating xtra, and about 2 weeks ago was very nauseated, and i was suppose to start my period also 2 weeks ago. I was cramping and felt like i was on my period that whole week, now 2 weeks later, i feel fine and feel normal. I feel like i usually do once my period ended. I been really tired lately and a little bit moody, everyone has noticed a change in my breast size and in my attitude. My aunt and friends believe i am pregnant. my friend who is 11 weeks pregnant just moved in and she even says the same thing. My husband says i am. He has like a feeling. I havent taken a test b/c i have bad luck with them. I have had a miscarriage do to the birth control last year. so i figured i should wait. How long would you suggest and would you say i was pregnant? Thanks, no smart a comments please. I am really tired and just want some answers please?|||Go get a test! You are probably pregnant if your period is 2 weeks late! Don't be scared, it's better to know than not to know cause if you are then you are stressing over all this for nothing and the stress can hurt your baby. Just take a test and your questions will all be answered. I was really scared to take one too cause my husband and i had been trying for 5 months and not having any luck, but i just made myself take the test cause i needed to know and it was POSITIVE! It really sounds like you are gonna get a positive this time cause you are having all the same symptoms i was having and still am having!! Good luck and baby dust!|||Hi

if your period was due 2 weeks ago, you can test now and see what it says. it should be accurate by now.

it sounds like you may be pregnant.

best of luck and baby dust to you ! =)

Is a 52/18 fixie gear ratio very fast?

I recently bought a fixed gear road bike used that is set up 52/18 with 27" tires. Since I live in Denver I haven't been able to ride it yet because of the ice. I checked some of the gear ratio calculators and got conflicing answers. Is this gear ratio really stiff? I want to train on this bike on 20 to 30-mile rides that are fairly flat with a few hills (Central and South Denver). What is a 52/18 ratio most appropriate for? If I need to back off on the chainring size, I would like to do it soon while the weather is still bad.|||Gear Development is the distance your bike will travel with one pedal revolution. It is also the key to finding the answer to your question.

To find your gear development, use this formula:

(GD in feet)=(# chainring teeth)/(# cog teeth) X 27inches X 3.14 / 12

To find your speed in Miles Per Hour, use this formula:

MPH=GD X RPM X .0114 (where RPM is your cadence)

So with your bike set up.the GD would be 20.41 feet, and your MPH at say, a 90 RPM cadence would be 20.94 MPH. That is a pretty reasonable speed for a solo ride.

In a typical ride, you might range from 70 RPM up to 115 RPM. That would give you a comfortable speed range of 16 to 27 MPH. If your terrain (and legs) support that, then you are good to go! If not, then you can use the formulas above to figure out the perfect setup for you.

Hope this helps!|||that's a pretty decent gear for flats...you'll have to plan your hills out by resting before you get to a hill and then hitting it with a good steady run....I once rode a whole winter on a 40x13 which is close to a 53x17...you should be able to ride 20mph on the flats

I used to drink Capt Morgans Spiced rum in Aurora I got on Colfax Ave Yo|||Thats a pretty high gear... about 2.9:1 ratio. It is definitely a good gear for flats and slight inclines but those classified as "climbs" will be out of the question for most people. You might want to go with long crank arms... perhaps 175 or 180mm if you keep those rings so you have a little more torque. I would personally try to get the ratio to about 2.3:1... 42 to 44 tooth chainring w/18T rear.

As mentioned before you'll need to time your hills with a good head start but be careful you don't pull a muscle.|||Your going to need to try a few different combinations out, fixed is just like that. I know i swapped out the gears on mine a few times looking for that perfect balance of speed and efficiency, It's going to depend allot on the terrain where you live and your strength. Speaking of pulling muscles mirage may have pulled the one between his ears so careful of dudes answers........

Sick of being the fat best friend?

I haven't been in a relationship since eighth grade. It lasted two weeks. I'm now 17; all of my good friends have boyfriends and I'm stuck being the third/fifth/seventh wheel when we go out.

I'm 5'0 and I weigh 175 pounds, with a 38DD bust. I have Hashimoto's Disease. My mother recently lost 45 pounds and claims that fat disgusts her. She consistently gives me **** for eating what I eat, even when it's soup. Now before you go grab your calculator to go check my BMI, save yourself the energy. I'm a size 14.

I'm tired of hearing the same six sentences on how to lose weight: water/exercise/food/surgery/pills/etc.

Help?|||Okay, so I used to be over sixty pounds over weight, and I was really depressed about it. So I kicked my butt into gear. I usually ate about 3000 calories a day, but I dropped down to around 1000. You'd be REALLY surprised at how much of a difference just eating healthier can make. And cutting back 2000 calories might sound like a lot, but it's not bad at all. I just made small changes: instead of having more chips, I took more carrots, I cut out the cheese on the eggs, and instead of ice cream I had yogurt for a snack. The eating right I say is the hard part, because it takes TONS of self control, but once you get into it, it's easy.

Then I exercised every day. I'd ride an excersize bike for about half an hour--forty five minutes per day, then do 100 crunches. I'd do that in the afternoon. Then in the evening I'd walk around the neighborhood. Excersizing is TONS easier if you have music you can get into--you forget you're working out. Some days if I was sore or just lazy I'd only do the crunches and the walk. It's still extra movement (by the way--when I was overweight, the only excersize I got was gym class and walking from class to class.)

The thing I think REALLY made a difference was that I drank TOOOONS of water. Probably a gallon a day. Instead of grabbing a soda, I'd grab a water. If you don't normally drink water, you could buy some individual Crystal Light flavoring packets and it tastes like Kool-Aid without the sugar. Or if you really do need a soda, make it diet. I know Diet Dr. Pepper tastes IDENTICAL to regular. Also, switch your juice from maybe the 5% real juice stuff to the 100% real juice. That way when you drink it, you're getting fluid, but also a serving of fruit.

I did all that above, and within two weeks, my stomach was visibly smaller, my arms and legs were more toned, my face was thinner, and I'd lost ten pounds.

Over the summer, I lost fifty pounds, and I didn't have a muffin top anymore :]

Sorry for the long answer, but all of that REALLY works. I know you said you didn't want to hear the water/exercise/food thing. But I swear what I did worked.

Good luck.|||There isn't much that can be done beyond water/exercise/food/surgery/pills/etc.. But you might be able to shed some weight if you try cutting down on the proportion of the foods your eating. I have heard that it takes your brain 20 minutes to get signals from the stomach the indicate it is full, which is why many people over eat. So maybe if you ate 3/4 of what you normally do, while eating slower, you'd still feel full but drop a few pounds in the process. Hope that that helps! Good luck!|||your mom probley needs to lay off. she dont need to forget that she was 45 pounds fatter than she is now. be ur self. if god wanted u to b a size -00 then he would have made u one he didnt. most over weight people that turn skinny are mean and mad at the world because they have to whatch what the eat to stay that way. dont be lik that.

goodluck!!!|||I'm in a similar boat (I don't understand why I use this expression.)

I'm 5'3 and 195 with 40DD's at age 16.

What I've done:

count the calories for one day when you eat as you normally do. Yes, it's a pain in the butt, but its worth it. Then take 15% of those calories, and subtract them. That's your new total of calories you should be eating to lose 1-2 lbs a week. If you're willing to sacrafice more, then subtract even more. Keeping track of your calories is helpful, because you can see what makes you lose weight.

Also, drink green tea. 3-5 cups a day can raise your metabolism by up to 50%. And never skip breakfast! It gets your metabolism going.

I also signed up at Self.com/challenge

It keeps track of your progress and gives great recipes and exercises.

Best of luck!|||Oh, c'mon, don't be upset. You can still make it through to do dieting!

commenting about on what you said about "sick of how to lose weight" , Yes, i agree with u, why? Because people suggested you were most likely doing the myth of dieting, not the fact about dieting!

It surpised me at the 1st time I realised that it's true!

Why all you done didn't work - it's because you might don't think about how your organ work or the people made you think this way. You have to know and...... OK, I can't go further because I'm not an expert for this. But I can really feel wht you feel of your condition.

I give you url , read through the sea text to find how that facts about dieting are.|||well have u tried the water/exresize/food? with your disease will make things harder for you but not impossible. you can still do it. what are all the medicines your takeing. Consider all the side effects! is the medicine really helping or makeing it worse make sure u know. only take whats really nessicary to feel better.

exersizeing is painful, but PAIN IS GAIN (gain as in gaining what you want(being healthy)) u gota go thru the pain to loose the fat. its worth it.

answer mine? its about whats your fav body type, pics inside! http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>|||Well I don't know if this well help but I know how you feel That was me in school to. I never had a girl friend and I was picked on all the time. But Now I have a wonderful girlfriend that I truly love and we have been together for over a year I'm still over Weight but I'm happy and that is all that counts. And I think you will find that once your out of school and the hole group thing goes away that life will get alot easyer I personally like thicker girls and I'm sure you will find a nice guy and be happy one day too. If you ever need to talk email me I will always be here for you.|||You have to reach that breaking point where you dedicate yourself truly to losing weight. other than that, you'll continue to fail. I reached my critical point this summer and have already lost 20lbs from my high of 270! Just take it day by day or hour by hour if you have to.

Would these tires fit on my 2001 mercury cougar V6?

I currently own P185/65R15 tires on rims from my previous car and im wondering if they would work on my current mercury cougar. The stock size on my cougar is 215/50R16. I used one of the online calculators and the results came to this:

Original tire

Sidewall: 4.23 in

Radius: 12.23 in

Diameter: 24.46 in

Circumf: 76.86 in

Revs/mile: 824.38

New Tire

Sidewall: 4.73 in

Radius: 12.23 in

Diameter: 24.47 in

Circumf: 76.87 in

Revs/mile: 824.25

Speedometer reading with new tire is 0.02% too slow.

When your speedometer is reading 60mph you are actually traveling 60.01mph.

The diffence between the two are very minor and im considering installing my previous car's winter tires

Now im just wondering if im missing anything important, like if the smaller rims can handle the load and etc...|||Those tires may fit in the wheel well, but that's no assurance that they will fit.

The biggest issue would be bolt pattern, the Cougar uses 4 bolt spaced along a 108 mm circle, while other cars probably use a different bolt pattern, for instance the Saturn L200 used 5 bolts spaced along a 110 mm circle.

If your car was a Ford Focus, a Ford Contour, a Mercury Mystique, or another 99-02 Cougar you should be fine.

The next problem is that the V6 cougar came in several styles, most important here are the standard, and the sport model. The sport came with the 6 spoke 16 inch alloy wheels, rear disk brakes, and a larger front rotor (260mm vs 273mm), while the standard had rear drum brakes and the 15 inch 5 spoke alloy wheel and smaller front rotors. The problem is that the stock 15's do not fit over the brake caliper with the larger brake rotor in place. I have heard that some 15" steelies may fit, but alloy wheels are just too thick.

As to should they be able to take it, yes, they should, but only if they fit.|||That's not much of a difference in tire size, and winter tires are always better for winter. 0.01 mph difference at 60 mph is nothing.....your speedo isn't that accurate from the factory!!

The wheels will fit (your car comes with 15", and you've got a set of 16" so they will have no problem) but it's the bolt pattern and back spacing that could be an issue. Check the bolt pattern for your car and the previous car....if they match, you're in luck.

Price Quote:Schwinn World Sport 87'?

I'm looking for a fair price to sell a Schwinn World sport--after recently using a bike-fit calculator I realized it wasn't the optimal size for me. I think it sold a little below $200 back in 87'

Schwinn World Sport 12 Speed

Frame type: CRO-moly 4130, black frame, few scratches

Frame Size CC(center to center): 63 CM

Crank arms: 165 MM Sugino

Stem: 11.43 CM

Handle Bar Width: 40.64 CM(Original handlebars)

Components: Suntour front/rear derailleur/cogs, Thumb gear switches, and DiaComp brakes(Plus emergency levers)

Wheelset: 27'' Sunshine 5345 Hubs

Bottle Cage: Specialized Rib Cage Pro MTB

Seat: Velo SX

Seat tube: Laprade SR

I replaced the handlebar tape a few months ago, and the rear tire. The front wheel has some wear, and probably 150 miles left on it. Both wheels are true and rims are in good condition. Brake housing/cables are in good condition. The cogs and chain rings both show little wear, the chains a little grungy, but still within the stretch limits. It could be upgraded for improved speed.

So, what do y'all think? Thanks for reading all that!|||I can't imagine anyone paying $100 for this.

I love old lugged steel frames, I even have a couple Super Sports of that vintage, but still, unless you find someone in love with THAT bike.....

Of course they're paying ridiculous sums for 40 year old Mustangs, so what do I know?

Side note: 63cm! Holy Cow! Who rode this thing? Maybe if you got it signed by its NBA star former owner......

|||My Grandfather always told me "something is only worth what people are willing to pay for it." In other words, what the market will bear.

I suggest looking on craigslist and ebay to see if any similar bikes have sold recently and see how much they sold for. Chances are, there's someone out there willing to pay a few hundred bucks for a "vintage" bike but it might take a while to find that person.

If you're looking to sell it quickly, it's probably still only worth a couple hundred bucks.|||$200 at most

you said "after recently using a bike-fit calculator I realized it wasn't the optimal size for me."

what does that mean?

didn;t it *feel* wrong before you checked the calculator?

if it feels fine why not just keep it?

wle.

|||I sold my 1984 World Sport at a garage sale for $20. That was an entry level model and none of the components are worth anything. I'd just donate it to Goodwill and take a tax write-off. |||20-30 year old Schwinn road bikes are plentiful. And are not considered collectible (even though many owner feel otherwise). EBay has a steady stream of these for sale. It's value is about a $100 maybe a little more.

EDIT: Check EBay $100 is about right. 63cm frame is big yes. But if you think back to the 70s and 80s lots of people bought these huge Schwinns so they didn't have to bend over as far, with a very short top tube it was doable. I couldn't count how many 10 speeds back then were ridden with they're saddles jambed down far as they could go.

Custom car audio making a box?

I got a 94 mustang gt and i am wanting 2 put a custom box where the spare tire goes. i looked up a rectanglar box calculator on google, a 25x25x6 box with 3/4 in mdf will produce about 1.4 cubic ft. that size will barley fit in the hole. I am thinking bout putting a kicker cvt 12 shallow mount sub in there. I dont want retarded bass as u can c since im going with 1 12. The idea is when u open the trunk u still have all the trunk space with just the grill sticking up out of the carpet. Any advice, comment, suggestions, or help would be nice. I just want a some bass while watching weight, im trying 2 stay into the low 12s|||spare tire enclosures are generally built using fiberglass. You can use the spare tire well as a mold making use of every bit of space available.

They are time consuming, and messy, but not that difficult to do yourself. There are a lot of good how-to's online.

To have it done by a shop would not be cheap.|||lol|||Better pack a couple of tubes of the Instant tire Fix gloop if you are leaving the spare behind.

How can I go 50mph on a Go-kart?

How can I go 50mph on a go-kart?

Go-kart Specs:

6.5hp engine

3600 rpm

16in tire diameter

3/4 shaft

I don't have the engine yet. its on the way. I need a 6.5 hp engine to go at least 50mph with the engine specs of 6.5 hp, 3600rpm, and the tire is 16 in in diameter. Is there a way I can get it this fast? The rear axle is 3/4 in diameter and the same with the shaft. I can find the right combination of clutch, sprocket and chain to go that fast. Ive used a sprocket calculator, but I cant find the right sized sprocket any where! The main combo I was looking for was a 12 tooth clutch and 12 tooth rear axle sprocket. I can find the sprockets but with 2 different chain pitch size of #35 and #40! I need help!!!! If I cant use the chain driven way then I need some specs on how to use a belt on it.|||Power = speed.

Torque = acceleration

Cold air = powerful combustion

so i would say adding torque converters, modifying your intake system by

adding a cold air intake system and maybe increasing the revs should help.

Good luck with your go kart mate!!!|||Saw a go-cart with a Harley engine on it. It was clocked at 120 mph on the runway of the Fargo, ND airport. Most of the time it was air born though.

I have also seen go carts with McCulloch chainsaw engines on them.

2 engines for racing, one on each rear wheel. Otherwise just one engine. The wind-up up to 8000 rpms.|||50 miles per hour = 73.3 ft/sec.

16" wheel = 1.333 ft diameter * pi ~ 4.2 ft per revolution

73.3 / 4.2 = 17.452381 revs per sec desired at wheel to achieve target 73.3 ft/sec = 50 mph.

17.5*60 = 1050 RPMs needed at axle.

From 3600 RPM at engine, you need about 3.42:1 reduction.

12 tooth on engine and 41 tooth on axle would be just about right.

Other than that if you gear for maximum speed this will give you the most sluggish acceleration, you may find some practical tradeoffs to consider here. If the specific speed of 50mph is important you may also need to consider aerodynamic fairing. My wild guess with no supporting math is that 6.5 hp will have difficultly pulling much over 40mph unless you work on aerodynamics.|||Texas gave you all the math, and correctly stated you'll have to do a lot of work on aerodynamics to get to 50mph.

With no aerodynamic work, you'll need about 15 hp to hit 50mph. Standard go-karts are very "dirty" aerodynamically.

Look at pictures of speed record bicycles and 50cc motorcycles for ideas.

Am I underweight for my age and size?

I'm a 6'3, 15-year-old guy, and I weight 141lbs. The online bmi calculator says that I'm borderline, but that doesn't take into account that I run, bike, and play tennis a lot. My bathroom scale, however, says that my bmi is only 10. I've been getting several comments about being too skinny, and I can faintly see the outline of my ribs with my stomach relaxed. I've been getting tired, and periodically dizzy, but that might be because I don't get much sleep. My mom is underweight and anemic. I eat until I'm full, but how much I actually eat varys a lot.|||im like 6'2 and 15, i think my weights about 150. some people just cant gain that much weight, but the dizzyness is a concern. maybe you work out and burn more calories than you eat.|||Start taking a Multi-Vitamin tablet daily to provide your system with nutrients you may not be getting in your daily food intake.

You need to make sure you eat a good, balanced diet, including plenty of boiled or steamed vegetables. Drink lots of water, fruit juices %26amp; milk. Snack on plenty of RAW fruit %26amp; veggies.

NEVER skip breakfast. You get your energy for the day from your breakfast meal.

Try to get a good 8 hours sleep each nite. Avoid stress.|||I agree with Moo Moo, you may just need to drink more water. Are you a small boned individual? Doesn't sound like you have anything to worry about, my friend.|||Your weight is fine don't worry over it, and being 6ft 3 is also good. In my opinion. If this is bugging you why not see your GP/Doctor?|||hmmm, well I wouldn't say your underweight, just a little slim. Drink more water :)

TV viewing distance.. could some one just tell me already what size to get :'(?

I am on the verge of buying a TV (gt30) yet I'm worried I'm going to buy the wrong size. I will be sitting approx between 6 feet and 7 and a half foot away (90")

I was first going to buy a 42inch, until I heard that a 46 inch would be better for the distance I was going to be viewing the TV from.

Then the TV shop salesman told me that 50inch would be better..

I then read on a website that sitting less than 9 feet with a 46inch will make the images look pixleated.

I went onto A techy forum and most on there said " A 42 inch would be more than fine and 46 would be pushing it.." I've now found a calculator site that I would be better off with a 50Inch...

I'm getting really sick and tired of reading SO many different conflicting documents/reviews/posts Can anyone PLEASE just tell me if I'll be okay viewing a 46inch TV at around 6-8 feet away? I don't care if I don't get 100% benefit but 90% would be fine.

Will I be able to tell the diff between 720p and 1080P?

Will I get the benefit of a bluray etc? I hardly watch TV (unless the world cup is on..) but I do watch allot of SD DVD (upscaled with ps3) and bluray.

I have been to a shop where you could test out diff viewing distance. However they had a HUGE window in front of the TV so looking at the detail was impossible.

Would I be better off with a 42,46 or 50inch TV? the 50 inch is WAY out of my price range tbh (I'm going for the GT30) and the 46 is out of my price range but manageable.|||I would suggest buying the 42in tv. Just remember the closer u are to a bigger tv the worse it looks. I have a 32in Samsung and I am about 5 feet away, but I does seem a little small. I also have a 55 lg led tv and I sit about 12 feet away from the tv. U could always talk to someone a bestbuy if you still have questions. Good luck|||Here's a viewing distance calculator that will take the guesswork out for you.

Confussed what bra size am i?

okay ive tired to get the correct bra size but it seems to be a hassle.i cant go measure by a Professional i live far away form that and my mom wont drive three hour any way my frame size is 28 while my cup size is 32 i tried online bra calculator and ive got 32aa 32b 34b 32c this is what got me confused in the first place.hope you can help me im 14 by the way so any tips or answers will be welcomed.|||The cup size is always the letter (A, B, C) and then number is the distance around your ribs. So measure under your breasts around your chest and that is your bra band size (32,34, etc..). As for cup size, you'll just have to try on and see what fits.

You dont have to go to a professional to get a fitting, most bra stores/department store can help you find your correct size.

Talk to your mom about finding the right size for you, she'll have had years of experience bra shopping and can help you out.|||I'm just as confused about that stuff as you are. A lot of girls are, actually.

Anyways, if you can't get to a store that will measure you (are you sure? Victoria's Secret will do that, if you live near one), your best bet is to just try on as many different sizes and styles as you can, and see which one works best. Sometimes, the people who work in the bra department of stores will be able to help you as well. Don't be afraid to ask.|||Those are my measurements and I wear a 32C.|||I wear 10 B ... :S

also i went to kmart to see the 30c bras and they seem so LARGE i didnt try them on oh and i am short for my age im about 4.9|||Is the strap on the 32A the right size? If you can pull it off your back more than 2 cm, then it's too big.

If the strap is too big on the 32A, try a 30AA first, and if that doesn't fit, try a 30A.

You cannot be a 30C . sorry hun!

Summarize : try these bras - 30A 32A and 30AA 32AA|||go to a bra shop and ask one of the people who work there to size you

they do it all the time

good luck|||Go to a bra shop and the sales woman can fit you properly.

How can I figure out what size wheels and tires fit...?

I'm installing a 6" skyjacker lift on my 99 ford f150. In addition to this I want to add bigger tires and wheels. How can I figure out what sizes will fit. I know the bolt pattern for my truck is 5x135 so I know I need wheels that fit that and I am looking for around 18" wheels and pretty much as big of tires that can fit. I guess I just need some advice of where to go from here. Should I pick out wheels and then match tires or vice versa? I was looking for but couldn't find some sort or calculator online so I could input one size and get a range for the other, something like that would be useful. Thanks.

Bill|||put 35x12.50x18's on it.

Tire size difference?

is there a considerable difference between 215/75R15 and 225/70R15? i've run it through all the computer calculators online and compared them side by side (the spare is the correct size)...and discount tire (that put the wrong tires on way back in 06) keeps saying its fine, but i want a professional, unbiased opinion if possible. Thanks!|||Well...here's the long version, I agree discount tire will say this from an availability standpoint its in there best advantage to sell sell sell. But differences are the details of your vehicle. You didn't say what kind of SUV you have just by looking at the tire size I can just assume, but miles of testing ,safety ,engine size, MPG, equipment, and emergency maneuvers is calculated by the engineers that designed your vehicle, they are aware of tolerances, and weaknesses during certifications and tune this accordingly. So its safe to stay with the manufacturer recommendations for the tires printed in your manuel, door jam, and glove box. Short version ...there similar but I hope discount tire didn't install different sizes on the same axel ? ? ? Just my two cents worth.

2007 Chevy Tahoe -- Switching form 17 inch to 20 inch wheels?

I was considering switching from OEM 17-inch wheels on my 2007 Tahoe to 20-inch OEM wheels. Using an on-line tire size calculator, the circumference difference is about 1%. Is the computer/speedo different in a Tahoe shipped with 17 inch wheels versus a Tahoe shipped with 20 inch wheels or is it close enough that GM keeps the computer/speedo the same for either wheel size option?|||They are not the same. You will need to have the service dept recalabrate the new size tires to the BCM of your tahoe. They will also have to recalabrate the onboard tire pressure system of the new wheels. Best of luck.|||I had one come in the shop the other day with 20 in wheels . We have a Teck 2 scanner used at Chevy dealerships and with that scanner we set the spedo. One thing to remember if your Tahoe is equipt with a tire presser monitor you will always see a tire presser fault . I don't work on to many 07 cars Yet but i think these presser sensors are in the valve stem. So take it to a Chevy dealer to avoid these common mistakes.

Importance of keeping recommended tire sizes?

my stock tire size is 185/60 15. i got 17s for the summer and the recommended size for me is 205/40 17. how important is it to keep that size because i kind of want a little more tire like a 45 or 50 series. i used a tire size calculator on 1010tires.com and it says going with the bigger tires would risk brake failure? how true is that|||Changing tire size can often improve the ride and performance of a vehicle through the following methods..

By selecting a tire of the next lower profile, you can significantly improve the ride quality and handling of your vehicle.

Plus sizing has become very popular. In this application, the plus size tire is the same height as the original but its sidewalls are shorter. This change delivers improvement in tire response and handling.|||When plus or minus sizing a tire you want to keep the overall diameter within +/-3% of the diameter of the original tire size so as to minimize changes in speedometer/odometer accuracy and gearing. You also need to keep the load carrying capacity to at least what the original tires had (a more complicated discussion) which unfortunately is something those tire size calculators don't take into consideration. For example you probably didn't know that in order to run those 205/40R17's you would have to make sure the tire is in an "Extra Load" range (tire size should read something like 205/40R17 XL 84H instead of 205/40R17 80H) and you may need to increase inflation pressure by as much as 10 psi to compensate for the tiny air chamber in those low profile tires.

You do not risk brake failure by changing tire size.|||On your car I would say high but not complete brake failure. 15" rims would be something like a civic or corolla which don't have great braking systems to begin with. Add additional weight (even with those wheels) and your braking distances will increase and your acceleration will decrease. Brake failure? Not really...but excessive brake WEAR=absolutely.

But to answer your question 40 is really skinny to use and if your rims aren't well constructed this height might result in dented rims. I definitely suggest running a bigger size as long as they don't rub...it'll throw your speedometer off and be harder to brake but will protect your rims better.|||It will effect your gas millage and tire wear if they're not the right size and PSI, also if you change tire size you NEED to recalibrate your speedometer and odometer.|||:Lots of R%26amp;D goes into wheel and tire size on vehicles so why change the size.

Tire size question, bought a used car that was lowered in the front.?

94 acura integra ls, lowered i believe by an inch only in the front, the back is on stock springs or whatever.

Factory tire size is P195/60 R14 85H

They put 185/65 r14s in the front

and the rear was factory tire size.

is this setup okay?

would this affect my gas mileage/ performance? i went on a tire size calculator and it said my speedometer was about 1.7% too slow

Also my biggest concern is that my rear left tire got flat and i replaced it with the same size as the fronts ( 185/65 )

so now i have 3 tires (front left/right, back left) that are at 185/65

and my back right tire is at factory tire size (195/60)

will this setup affect my performance/gas mileage?

my biggest concern is safety as next week i will be traveling to los angeles

3 tires the same size 1 tire a different size.

Thank you!|||Will have minimal affect on performance/gas milage not enough to be concerned with if you compare those tires side by side you will find they are virtually the same height (circumference) but fronts are approx 3/4-1 inch wider giving you slightly better traction.

As far as having one odd size tire because circumference is almost identical on all of them it will have no affect on handling or drivablity of vehicle|||and JBF i bought this car for really cheap i needed a beater car to save gas and it does save gas 28mpg

|||I know if they are different tread it is not good on your tires. It's best to have them all the same or it could possibly wear your tires down specially it it's different tread. It shouldn't be a safety hazard but I would call any automotive place and ask them.|||put the original size tires that came from the factory back on it. that way your speedometer will be accurate.|||I would never buy a car that has been hacked up this bad. Just think of all the stuff you DON'T know about.

What would be the next tire size up from a 285-70-17? 10 points?

I am wanting to increase the tire size on my truck. it is lifted so original specs and fitment do not apply to all the tire calculators I have tried online. I am currently running a 285 70 17 but would like something a tad wider....what size would this be in still keeping with a 17 inch rim ?|||33x12.5-17 super stinger

Also happens to be the size of my penis.|||You can go up to a 295 or 305 and leave the ratio at 70. If you want to have the same diameter you would have to go to a 325/65 17. That would be 40mm or 1 9/16" wider but only 5 mm shorter, not enough to matter.

Does tire size affect the braking system?

My car (Toyota FJ Cruiser) has stock 265/75R16 tires. The closest size for winter tires i could find for it was 245/75R16. As I used the tire calculator thing, it said i have 3.8% difference in my speedometer. Is that a big deal for braking system or anything else?|||Absolutely. It has to do with the friction on the size of the surface area of the tire hitting the road.|||The tires are actually smaller. Tire width in MM / Aspect Ratio / R= Radial- Rim size . This has everything to do with weight. Remember an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted on by an outside force. The more weight the more force needed to stop and start the tire rotation.|||as long as u have the same size all round u shouldn't have a prob at all u will get probs when there r diff size tires front 2 back coz it will mess up wheel speed sensors 4 your abs other then your speedo being out u shouldn't have any probs at all|||Not that big of a deal...the tire is still the same diameter only the width of the winter tire is thinner. you'll be fine.|||It shouldn't make much of a difference. the thing that would be affected the most would be the difference in your speedo. I dont think the brakes will be affected.|||I don't think it will make a noticeable difference.|||No, you should be ok. You'll just have to adjust to the new size of the tires.|||Don't know, but you should always have good lubrication.|||probably!|||Won't hurt a thing.
